What Are People Saying About Your Business Online?
Ever wonder what people are saying about your business online? Did you know that there are tools available just for the purpose of monitoring your online reputation? Google Alerts are free email updates from Google search results about any topic you’re interested in tracking (your business name, for example). And now, Google has made it even easier to monitor your reputation with their online reputation tool "Me on the Web".
“Me on the Web” is now included on the Google Dashboard in between account information and Analytics. You can set up alerts just like you could previously, but now it takes less clicks to get the information. Track the names of your competitors, your company name, and other key terms that are important to your business. Anytime something is indexed by Google that mentions what you’re tracking, you immediately receive an email notification with a link to that item. Alerts can be set up for web, blog, news, video, or groups searches.
The tool provides resources for managing your online identity (which includes not only what you share about yourself online but what others share too) and how to remove unwanted content. The first step in using the tool is to create or your Google account (if you haven’t already). Then, go to the Google Dashboard to get started.
