SiteBeat: September 2013
Greetings from HEROweb. One of the paradoxes of what we do as web developers is that some of our finest work goes unnoticed. Great software development results in a product that is simple and works reliably. In a certain sense, some of our best work and feature development goes unnoticed by the user because its fundamental characteristic is not that it is flashy or attention-grabbing, but that it helps the user accomplish what they need to do on a daily basis in as unobtrusive manner as possible. When we miss the mark and create a feature that is nonintuitive and draws your attention, that is when we know we will be hearing from you for help.
Creating software that is simple, elegant, and flexible, is no easy task. We are continually working to improve the MightyMerchant platform for a wide range of users and uses. We are excited with the roll-out of our responsive design framework this month and that we are continuing to push our platform forward to meet the needs of our business customers in an elegant and simple way.

Switching Payment Processors? Please Speak With Us First
If you are looking to make a change with your payment processor or gateway provider, please talk with us first about the options you are considering. MightyMerchant supports several credit card gateways, but there are hundreds of gateways out there. If you sign up for one that is not compatible with our system, then it is possible that your credit card processing will not work. If you are considering a change and have questions, just let us know.
What Happens When Your Site is Under Attack
This past month, one of our customer's sites has been under attack. The site is experiencing what is called a DDoS, or, distributed denial of service attack. DDoS attacks are very difficult to combat and will require you to take some immediate action if your site comes under attack. Fortunately, the majority of our customers are not typical targets for DDoS attacks. But attacks can happen. Please read on to understand about what denial of service attacks are about and what steps you need to take when they occur on your site.
