Evaluate Your Website’s Smartphone Accessibility
Are your contact information and store hours easy to find on the first page?
Mobile users are likely visiting your website so that they can get directions to your business or give you a call. They should be able to access your address and phone number on the front page. If you are a locally-focused business, make sure this information is in the header as well as the footer of your site.
Are your website’s most essential pages only one click (or tap) away?
Don’t bury your site’s most important functions in multiple tabs. If you have a restaurant business, daily specials and the food menu should be easily accessible. If your business gives tours, the booking number and tour information should be front and center.
Do the core elements on your website work on a mobile device?
Flash does not work on iOS devices, and you might find other elements of your website don’t display correctly. Either change these elements on your website or consider creating a custom mobile version. Quality mobile sites feature large buttons and simple navigation, and they minimize zooming and scrolling. Mobile users expect a highly functioning mobile site and are unlikely to spend a lot of time on a site that isn’t optimized for mobile.
