Don't Forget to Say "Thank You"

As a business owner, you no doubt have regular contact with your vendors, advisers, staff, or repeat customers. It's easy to get into a rut of just doing business without taking the time to say "thank you" or make some other small gesture of appreciation.

Starting this summer, make a habit of saying "thank you" with phone calls or perhaps cards on a regular basis. When you say "thank you", it makes others feel appreciated, and sets you apart from the hordes of other clients and customers who don't show appreciation. The cycle of giving and receiving is ongoing among people who do business, and you never know when the vendors you work with might decide to reward you in some significant way.
