Create URLs with UTM Tags
URL tagging is a powerful technique for your web marketing. Using special tags (UTM tags) at the end of your URLs will pass along information to Google Analytics to give you deeper insights into how your marketing efforts are working.
An example of a URL with these UTM tags looks like this: http://www.domain.com/page.html?utm_source=value1&utm_medium=value2&utm_campaign=value3&utm_term=value4&utm_content=value5
These tracking tags (meaning everything you see after the question mark), are perfect for any type of marketing campaign, including paid advertising, product feeds, email blasts, or even a print ad or QR code.
Create unique tagged URLs for your different marketing campaigns using Google's URL Builder. Track your results through Google Analytics and see how they've paid off.
