Special Offer

Social Bookmarking Tool
MightyMerchant is pleased to announce social bookmarking integration. The social bookmarking tool encourages web site visitors to bookmark and share web pages that interest them with their friends through services such as StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us, and Digg.

Never heard of social bookmarking? Millions of web users subscribe to social bookmarking sites that store and organize bookmarks collected from the site's user community. When a site is bookmarked, the user's friends or people with similar interests are notified about the site. This is an excellent way to spread word of your products to people who want to buy them!

The tool allows people to bookmark your pages with just one click of the mouse. Bookmarking buttons appear on many web sites, so social networking users will know what to do when they see the button on your page.

To learn more about the value of social bookmarking watch this video (If you can't see the video click to watch it):

To see the bookmarking widget at work go to our home page, and test it out on the left sidebar. In order to get the full effect of how it works, we recommend signing up for a social bookmarking account at one of the well-known services like StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us, or Digg.

MightyMerchant is offering this feature for FREE through September 20th. After September 20th we will charge a $50 set up fee.

And don't forget to bookmark MightyMerchant while you're checking it out!

Marketing Tip

What I'm Not
--A popular blog that reviews and features your unique products

What I'm Not is a unique blog that features unusual and interesting products. Each product includes a detailed review and a link to the site where you can buy it.

Here's how it works: You send them a product for review, they review it, and an image of the product along with the review and a link to your site is featured on the homepage of this popular blog.

Products are also stored permanently in categories like "Accessories", "Footwear", and "Office Stuff".

The in-depth and thoughtful reviews give your products some good promotion. What I'm Not tends to feature products that are "quirky, unique, fun, feminine, or functional." Visit the What I'm Not web site to get a feel for the kinds of products to submit.

When you are ready to submit your products go to the submission page. This is a quick and easy way to give your products more publicity.

Welcoming New MightyMerchant Clients

Client Profile: To the Point

-- We speak with Paul Sidelinger of RazorSharpKnives.com

Sometimes you just know you want to be in business for yourself, even if you're not sure exactly what it is you want to do. That's how Paul Sidelinger felt when he was looking for a business opportunity, before he settled on RazorSharpKnives.com. He started his business "just like any other business gets started," he says, " just by looking to what you like to do, looking to your passions." Paul says he has always had an interest in knives, their use, and their history, and thought that selling quality knives would be a good field for him.

In the Navy, Paul worked as an Aviation Electronics Technician. After his honorable discharge a few years ago, Paul found himself working some jobs that he wasn't happy with and that weren't going anywhere. He began looking for the right opportunity to start his own business. "I did some research online to see if knives would be a viable business idea," he says, "and it looked to be that knives were in pretty high demand. So I thought why not go for it."

RazorSharpKnives.com was started in 2006, and since then the business has been successfully selling brand name, high quality pocketknives, hunting knives, and knives of all sorts for the collector and enthusiast.

Paul found MightyMerchant through a business coaching program that recommended us as a good ecommerce solution. "I thought, hey, that's as good a recommendation as any so I'll see what they're all about," he remembers.

He knew of other shopping carts and ecommerce solutions, but once he realized how easy and convenient working on his site would be with MightyMerchant's ecommerce platform, there was no need to look anywhere else. "I've heard of other solutions," he says, though he was happy with what he saw in MightyMerchant. "I just went with a good professional recommendation. It's user friendly, you don't always have to dig in to the gut of your website to make changes. It is handy. I have no complaints."

A key feature that MightyMerchant implemented on Paul's site is an automated inventory upload from his distributor, an immediate transfer of orders back to his distributor for order fulfillment. MightyMerchant wrote custom code to integrate his web site orders and inventory with his distributor so it all happens like clockwork.

"I also wanted a site that loads quickly and looks professional," says Paul. "A lot of sites out there look like c#!p to be honest with you. They're just a mess and that's one thing I stressed was that I wanted it to look clean and professional, like it's a real business. We accomplished that goal."

Thanks for choosing MightyMerchant, Paul!
