As you remember from last month when we announced the new division of MightyMerchant, Hero Web Marketing & Design, we promised an announcement of two new staff members to accommodate our growth. This month we're pleased to introduce you to Customer Account Representative Judy Stickney and Web Developer Jesse Wakeley.
One of the suggestions we made in a recent blog post was to update your home page frequently. Changing your content could mean reworking some product descriptions, or refreshing your home page text. If you choose to take a look at your product descriptions, we've written some advice to get you thinking about the different approaches to copywriting--the emotional perspective versus the intellectual perspective.
In our Client Profile this month we talk to Jackie Nelson of ThatStyleWorks.com, a site that offers artfully designed screen printed t-shirts and hooded zippered t-shirts in many sizes for all women.

Hopefully you saw our announcement in last month's newsletter about a new division of MightyMerchant which offers Internet marketing services, Hero Web Marketing and Design. We are ready to work with you! Even if you don't think you need--or aren't ready for--professional Internet marketing services, we hope you will check out the site for a full description of what we have to offer. While Hero Web Marketing and Design does represent a new direction for our company, we are not changing the existing services that we offer MightyMerchant clients and we look forward to working with you to promote your site!
-- New Staff
With the addition of Hero Web Marketing and Design to the family of MightyMerchant products and services, we obviously needed to add some new staff members. We are excited to announce the addition of two new employees, Judy Stickney and Jesse Wakeley. Judy is joining our staff as our Customer Account Representative, and will be working to coordinate your needs with the services that MightyMerchant provides. Jesse is our new programmer, and will be working on developing the MightyMerchant eCommerce platform and serving our clients with their web development and custom programming needs. Welcome both Judy and Jesse!
-- No more Netscape support
Netscape Navigator, the iconic browser which brought the web to the majority of Internet users, will not be updated anymore. Launched in 1994, Netscape was designed to be user-friendly and became the most used Internet browser through the 90s. When Microsoft wanted a share of the popularity, they licensed the source code from Mosaic Inc. and created Internet Explorer. Netscape continued to rise in popularity until Microsoft offered Internet Explorer free with Windows 95. Users switched wholesale, and Netscape's profits and popularity continued to dwindle. It fared no better when it was bought my AOL in 1999. In an ironic twist, Netscape's developers created a new, better, more flexible browser the world knows today as Mozilla Firefox. AOL recently announced it would no longer issue updates for Netscape as of February 1, 2008, and official support will end March 1, effectively killing the once-great browser.
