December 2007

Greetings from MightyMerchant.

As this year draws to a close, we at MightyMerchant are assessing our performance over the past year. We are also planning ahead for 2008. We have been developing exciting plans to expand the Internet marketing services we offer our clients. We will be announcing our complete plans in our January newsletter.

As our final feature enhancement for 2007, we are rolling out a new anti-spam feature that we we have integrated into MightyMerchant.

Our Client Profile this month features an appropriate site for the holiday gift-giving season, JewcyWrap.com, a site that sells fun Jewish themed gift wrap.

We wish you the best for this Holiday season.

-- Implementation of Captcha verification

MightyMerchant has developed a Captcha form verification system to thwart people who set up scripts that attempt to exploit website forms and send multiple bogus submissions. What is Captcha, you ask? It is a simple "test", consisting of some graphical images of alphabetic characters that a user needs to type into a text box to verify that they have viewed the images and are a real person rather than a computer program. Over the next two months we will be updating all MightyMerchant sites that are using the latest version of our software to the new Captcha system. The forms that will be updated will include Tell-A-Friend, testimonial submissions, gallery submissions, and any other forms that save data directly into the Site Manager. We will notify you when we have updated your site.

-- MightyMerchant's survey results

We promised the results of our survey, so here are some interesting ones: Out of 29 respondents 12 of you told us you always read the newsletter. We didn't get any 'never read' the newsletter responses so that is encouraging! Most of you were interested in articles about SEO and 'How to' articles about the Site Manager and Order Manager. We'll work to bring that information to you in the coming months. You were least interested in information about online security and blogs/podcasts/rss and related technology. But...we hope you'll give the idea of starting a business blog a second look. Almost any business can benefit from a blog and we've outlined a 'get started' approach in this month's feature article. Twenty-eight of you thought the length of our newsletter was 'about right,' Five of you thought our blog was 'good,' while 3 of you thought it was 'very good.' To the 21 of you who haven't read the MightyMerchant eCommerce Blog, we hope you'll give it a chance! Ten of you thought our online documentation was 'very useful,' while an equal number hadn't used it. Nine of you were less satisfied, saying it was 'not very' or only 'somewhat useful.' Our customer service left most of you 'very satisfied,' but the two 'somewhat dissatisfied' answers we received let us know we had room for improvement. And finally, we received many excellent responses about features you would like to see us offer and other services that would help you. We're listening, and are working on some of those features right now. Once again, thank you to everyone who took the time to give us this feedback.
