Cross-Category Search
If you have products that fit into multiple topic areas and your
customers will shop for items that fit an intersection
of these topics, this cross-category search feature is for you. As with many MightyMerchant features, there are choices on how we might set up the search on your website.
In this first example, we provide the customer with the option to select one option from each of three attributes:
1) A specific product type, or all product types
2) An specific artist, or all artists
3) A single theme, or all
The above example gives the customer tons of flexibility when searching this large product catalog. Some samples of search requests could include:
- Show me all the fairy stickers you have by any artist
- Show me all products you have created by the artist John Smith
- Show me all the bumper stickers you have by artist John Smith with a political theme
Our next example will further expand the search results by allowing multiple selections in each category.
Let's
say you sell educational materials in many different subject areas and
grade levels. The cross-category search below would allow your
customers to easily find
- All products in one or more subject areas.
- All products for one or more grade levels.
- Only products grades 4 and 5 in subject areas math and science.
You could
set up search categories for styles, age groups, manufacturers, models, or
anything.
